Historic Corfiot property for sale in Central Corfu, consisting of three separate buildings,  just a short drive from the beach, the marina and local amenities. As a Venetian possession, the island was ruled by nobles, some of whom remained influential up until the early 20th century. The property, located in an agricultural village, about 15 km to the South of Corfu town, was the mansion of the local petty baronet, whose extended family owned it as late as the early 1980s. The main house and its two dependencies are set in a 3000 square meter garden with tens of trees. Although in need of upkeep, the property retains all of the traditional structural characteristics. All three roofs have been rebuilt and reinforced, and the ceramic, byzantine style tiles replenished. The main house features five rooms, all overlooking the gardens and surrounding green hills. There is also a big kitchen, 3 bathrooms and three fireplaces. The bigger dependency house consists of two floors. The ground floor features a stone and wood, mule driven olive press that has remained intact, a room with fireplace, a bathroom and a WC.  The first floor consists of an 80 square meter room with 10 windows, that used to serve as the town hall of the region. The smaller dependency, with electrical wiring and plumbing in place, doors and windows ready but not fully mounted and bathroom fittings purchased but not installed, requires some work to become functional. It consists of two spacious, high ceilinged independent rooms or studios, each with a mezzanine, kitchenette space, a bathroom and a fireplace. The nearby main village has 2 supermarkets, a post-office, 2 bakeries, restaurants and cafes (including an internet cafe). A picturesque , organized beach is located about 3 km, as the crow flies, from the property. In the 1990’s and the 2000’s, the current owners used the property to organize international artistic, literary and cultural events.
